Cassandra manages NSW Regional Biospecimen and Research Services at the University of Newcastle, NSW. She has held this position since early 2018 and has contributed to the growth and diversification of the Hunter Cancer Biobank and Mark Hughes Foundation Brain Bank with support from NSW Health Pathology, and Hunter Medical Research Institute. 

With a background in Microbiology Research, Oncology Clinical Trials and several years’ experience working in international medical communications, Cassandra has a keen interest in sustainability and biobanking partnerships. Cassandra is especially interested in post-mortem brain biobanking as well as the role that biobanking facilities play in facilitating clinical trials, both for the local research community and in an international multi-site setting.
