ABNA, as the lead professional body for biobanking within Australasia will:
- Support Australasian biobanking organisations to promote the ethically sound collection of high quality biospecimens for research
- Promote the benefits of biobanking for research to the Australasian community including members of the general community, researchers, funding bodies and government
- Enhance knowledge amongst the biobanking community. ABNA will promote information sharing through the website and through hosting of an annual scientific meeting, including national and international biobankers and industry partners
